Halloween Finds

Two things: 1. I have a lot of time on my hands...2. Halloween, although one of my favorite holidays, just isn't happening this year. So Pinterest seems to have taken over satisfying my love for all things weird, creepy and unnerving.

Halloween Wrap Up

Is any one else super bummed when Halloween is over?  I wish it could just last for one more month.  I guess now that it is a week after I should wrap it up and do something with the snow covered pumpkins.  This year Bradley and I did our first ever couples costume so we picked our favorite cartoon, Adventure Time, and went as Princess Bubblegum and Finn. We also participated in our town's Zombie Walk the weekend before Halloween.  Both were incredibly fun! On Halloween night we stayed in carved pumpkins and watched episodes of the Walking Dead.  Sadly we only had a handful of trick or treaters but I guess that means more candy for us.

Sorry Blog

Sorry blog.  I have been a little negligent lately.  I know I have said this before but for some reason this is always the first thing to get pushed to the back of the line.  I will try to be better. Here is a few things that have been going on lately.

3 days before the snow

Zombie Sara

Who am I? picnikfile_5cjASV

Two nights of parent teacher conferences.  It is always interesting.  I like to refer to it as a love fest.  I tell the parents how much I love there kids and the parents tell me how much their kids love me.
Trip to Disneyland....I mean Ikea.  Its an hour an a half drive so it always feels like a special occasion.
Grad school still kicking my butt. Lots of reading, writing and drawing going on.
Sewing a lot for Bradley and my Halloween costume.
First big snow of the year.  Sadly it took all the fall leaves with it.
Zombie crawl with friends. We got to dress up and then go to local buisness' for free item and drinks.  It was a lot of fun
Finding some me time by giving myself weekly manicures
Lots of snuggle time with the cats.  I am pretty sure they are just using us for our warm bodies.
I am really excited for next weekend when Bradley and I venture to the mountains for the weekend to celebrate 8 years of being together.  We always make a bigger deal out of our first date anniversary than we do our wedding anniversary.

Halloween Porn: Decorations

Here is some Halloween porn for your lovely October Sunday.  I love this time of year. The leaves, the cooler weather, just the over all change is so rejuvenating. It makes me want to get all crafty and things and that probably explains why I was in Hobby Lobby for an hour and a half yesterday.  I left with way to much stuff! Hopefully I will complete them all before Halloween rolls around.  My first project is this white pumpkin.

Zombies and Caramel Corn.... Oh MY!

Happy Halloween!

We did our celebrating Friday night at a friends house so tonight we are laying low and having a few people over to watch The Walking Dead on AMC.  Now I have always had a really vivid imagination as well as intense and life like dreams.  So watching any sort of horror movie is usually a sure to result in a intense life like dream of my friends and family running around being attacked my zombies or aliens or psycho killers.  It should be fun.   My plan is to keep myself busy baking in the kitchen.  Here's what is on the menu:

Lemon Mint Cake with Simple Syrup

Black Bottom Chocolate Cupcakes

you know...just hanging

I am home sick today with nothing much to do but rest and sleep.  I am pretty sure my immune system has been fighting something off for the last two weeks and my body finally has given in.  After 5 years of teaching in a petri dish of 2000 kids my immune system is really strong.  I hardly get sick as much as I used to but when I do I tend to get it pretty bad.

Halloween costume sneak peak.  Gold star and a muffin if you know what this book is from.

Maternal Urges

Is it wrong that I desperately want to get this for the cats? I think it is awesome!!! My maternal urges are spilling out in odd ways.
