Where did your filter go?
Happy Valentine's! During my first period Drawing class today I asked the kids how they were doing and wished them a happy v day. One of my cowboy kids in the back said "I think this holiday is a bunch of bullshit". I just stared at him stunned and although not everyone would say that out loud I know some people feel that way about it... (I had a discussion with said student about filtering the things that come out of your mouth especially to your teacher). I actually kind of like this holiday even though Bradley and I don't celebrate it. It is super cute and sweet. Bradley and I have always made a point of celebrating our relationship throughout the year so buying flowers when they are the most expensive and going out to dinner when everyone else in town is as well just isn't our cup of tea. However I do think it is always a great time to tell the people in your life how much you appreciate them...yourself included.

Its the most wonderful time of the year
This pretty much has summed up this week. A 4 point speeding ticket and a jury summons all in one day.

How does that happen? Once I saw the jury summons I really just had to laugh. What else could go wrong? Probably a lot but at that point it was just kind of ridiculous. I really just had to laugh especially when I saw that the jury summons is for the first day of all new classes after the holidays, which is possibly THE worst day to miss as a teacher, and the court date for my ticket is on my birthday in February.

Lovely Ladies V.2
So I am trudging my way through the last few weeks of this semester and also trying to be cheery for the holidays. I can never figure out if I love this time of year or hate it. I thought I would spare you all my misery so instead of not blogging at all I am going to try and just be positive. So I thought I would do another Lovely Ladies post before I head out to help my friend Rachel sell some art work tonight.
Today at work I was looking at what my healthy weight range should be because I recently started tracking my food again with weight watchers ( I suppose that is an entirely different post) and I found out for a 5'4" person a healthy weight range for me can go all the way down to 115lbs. I laughed out loud when I saw that. I will never be 115 lbs. My body just won't go there. I would look like a skeleton if I did. And I thought "That is okay. I am not expecting my body to go there". I know my body well enough to know that weight would not be healthy for me. And it reminded me of the model Crystal Renn and an interview I saw with her and her battle with anorexia. She wanted to be happy and healthy and not an anorexic stick. And that is really all I want too.
So I present to you Lovely Lady V.2 Crystal Renn
