Still no baby but the last few days I have woken up to some beautiful snow. I was hoping that today would be the day but as of this afternoon no progress. I am trying to stay positive and take it one day at a time. I spent a good 10 minutes bouncing on the exercise ball earlier today and I have been taking evening primrose oil to try and get things going. A good friend of Bradley and mine is getting married tomorrow so most likely things will start then otherwise we are going to talk to the doctor about inducing during week 40 (I'm 39 tomorrow) on Monday. Earlier this week I wasn't feeling little lady move around as much. This happens from time to time and usually little bean is just having a quiet day or a growth spurt however this time it was making me uneasy for some reason. The doctor had me come in for a non-stress test where they hook you up to some monitors and check the baby's heart rate. Her heart rate was fine but she still wasn't moving around a whole lot. So the doctor decided to do an ultrasound just to be sure. I wasn't going to complain. It has been 18 weeks since I have seen that little baby face. They checked her lungs, heart and movement after making me drink a bunch of gross grape juice. Ultimately she was fine. She was really just having a mellow day and not over reacting. Once again...just her father. I adore her already! Hopefully she can deal with her wackado high strung mother.

My Mom with Me
When I posted the last pregnancy picture of myself on
Facebook people started freaking out. I
got numerous calls and emails from people asking if I was okay. People were having a hard time with how big I
am. In my online absence I must have grown out of the "cute bump"
stage and progressed into the "obscenely pregnant" stage. My mom, who
lives 3 houses down from me, keeps reminding me that I am carrying exactly like
I did so I made a point of digging out the picture (and posting it on Facebook)
of her when she was 9 months pregnant with me.
It is uncanny to me how similar we are carrying. You just have to keep in mind that my mom is
6 inches shorter than me at 4'10". It is a miracle I got to 5'4" since I am the tallest person on my mom's side of the family. No joke.
I keep going back to this picture and really enjoying how happy and excited she looks. You can just see it in her face. When I asked her about it she said she was just excited to have me out of her but I know there is more to it than that. It has been really fun to watch her get excited about having a granddaughter. I think she is just as excited this time as she was with me (maybe more). It makes me excited for little lady to make her debut and it really makes me excited for the relationship she is going to have with her grandma.

Bad News Good News
Thing have just kind of exploded around here. Not literally...but you know.
Lets start with the bad news and work our way to good news which always involves the little nugget.
Bad News: Our poor town is in the midst of a really serious fire. Fort Collins sits right up against the mountains in Northern Colorado and a lot of our friends live in the foothills and in the mountains. It has been burning for over a week now and almost 200 structures (homes included) have burned. It has kept a lot of us on edge and it has filled the town with smoke. Being pregnant and asthmatic has pretty much kept me confined to the house which just sucks. It is just sad since it has taken so many people's homes and possessions not to mention it has devestated the landscape. Bradley brought up a good point when he said that our little nuggett won't know what that area looks before the fire. I am sure it will just look like the surface of the moon for awhile. A lot of my students also live in this area so I am sure this is something that our community will be dealing with for a long time.
The fire actually hopped the mountain for a few days so you could see actual fire from town
So so news: I am in the middle of my summer graduate classes which I have to make about a 45 minute drive South East of town so it has been nice to get out of the smoke.
Good news: We had our ultrasound last week to check up on the babe. Babe is sooo incredibly healthy and at that point was weighing 10 ounces. The most exciting part was finding out if the babe was a boy or a girl.We had a party last weekend to announce to everyone and all you people that guessed boy (myself included) we were....

Oh Hey There!
Although I have been spending copious amounts of time on my
computer it has all been for the love of finishing up this semester of graduate
school. I literally just finished my
final paper for my contemporary art class (what do you want to know about Yoko
Ono?) and hopped right over here. Now I
can finally engage in all these crazy nesting urges I am having and start to
focus more on this pregnancy and relaxing.
You want to know what the hardest part of being pregnant so far is? Not
being able to buy EVERYTHING and decorate like a crazy person. Now that we are past the first trimester I feel more comfortable buying things but good god I would say about 98% of
baby stuff is gender specific. I don’t
know how people who wait the entire 9 months to find out the gender do it. I am too impatient and we will be finding out
the gender in June. Currently I am
thinking girl but it could be a Cyclops for all I know. Just kidding, baby! I have bought a few things but I mostly have
just been spending time on Pinterest getting inspiration. Today’s finds…mobiles!

So Long January
(from the best flickr photostream ever)
Well now that my least favorite month of the year is wrapping up I thought I would do something new this by documenting all the things that have happened at the end of each month. Sometimes it scares me when I think about the past year and I know a bunch of stuff happened however there is so much of it I have a hard time remembering. This way I will be able to look back and and remember all of those little things.
So in January of 2011 the following took place
1. The biggest change in awhile happened when my husband quit his day job as a cartographer (map maker) and went to work for our friend's buisness, Secret Compass. I never saw my husband working for a big company his whole career and eventually figured he would be working out of the house doing something he absolutley loved. Well, I think he found it. With this new job he he is basically scowering the internet for really cool high end movie/nerdy collectables. This new job has some really cool travel involved and high earning potentail which is a relief since we are wanting to save for a house. Most of all I am excited to see Bradley doing something that he really enjoys.
2. Spent a lot of time online looking for the perfect house to pop up. I am still looking. The dream house would consist of a 2 story, nicely cared for and a little updated, on some acreage preferably on the north out skirts of town and doesn't cost in arm and a leg. I figure if I just keep looking it will show up.
3.The urge to have a baby intensified only to be subsided by a intensely realistic dream that I was pregnant and coming to the realization that all babies will turn into a weirdo 13 year old. However if you ask me today a sleeping and pooping monster sounds great.
4. Struggling with being horribly introverted. I have been crawling into bed around 8 or 8:30. And my issues with depression flare up this time ever year. Strangely, I expect it but somehow it never gets any easier.
5. Visited Bradley's grandparents at the nursing home. Had the strangest experience there yet. The entire 2 hours we visited there was a woman in the next room moaning "mama" rather loudly. Bradley was also accosted by a frail woman in a wheelchair asking him to help her escape. It reminded me of the opeing scene of Shutter Island. It is a really good nursing home facility despite our experience on this day.
6. Made a trip to Lyons Pinball in Lyons, Colorado and relived a little piece of my childhood.
7. Started my 3 months of not buying any clothing unless it is absolutely necessary. I must say it has been an eye opening experience.
Looking forward to in February: My 28th birthday and winter slowly making it's exit
