Seriously, Rain?  You are totally cramping my spring style here.
I guess I will make my way to yoga sopping wet.

Mental Health Tuesday

spring

new shoes

Today has been really nice so far.  I took a mental health day for sanity purposes.  My first year of teaching my mentor teacher, who was also my high school teacher who told me every day I needed to be an art teacher, sat down with me and my plan book and we would find days when all my classes were working on projects and he would make me take that day off to do whatever I wanted.  I've stuck to that in my 5 years of teaching.  Its the philosophy of how are you supposed to take care of everyone else if you don't take care of yourself?  Bradley and I were woken up at 8:30 by one of the cats and spent an hour watching the today show and then headed out to breakfast.  After that we went to DSW and Super Target to look for shoes and ended up with a pair of cute wedges and a set of new pillows.  Bradley just made his way to work and I have the afternoon to myself and a yoga class later this evening.  I think today is just what I needed!

snow snow snow

march 24

This is what I woke up to this morning after I slept in. I received the automated phone call from the school I work at last night stating that school was cancelled so I stayed up late reading. Some of the snow has melted but there is still a nice blanket of it everywhere else. Like most people I am totally over it but I know it is almost April and snow this time of the year melts quickly.

Most of today I just hung out, did some laundry and read a little. We were supposed to have parent teacher conferences tonight from 3:30 to 8 and even though I would be perfectly capable of driving to school it was cancelled since school was cancelled. Needless to say I am perfectly fine not doing 4 1/2 hours of parent teacher conferences. I also started looking up crafting ideas that I can do while I am not mobile after my surgery on Friday. My biggest flaw is my inability to sit still and do nothing. I can't hang very well with it. So I found this super easy way to make paper rose. I think I am going to make a bunch of the flowers and take some of the branches that broke from this snow and put them together in a vase.

Bees!

Its been a goal for awhile now to someday at some point in my life to end up in a place where I can have chickens and raise bees. I sounds really nerdy but it is true.  My house is really just a place to store my crazy amount of plants and I geek out on a nerdy nature level just about every day. I recently stumbled across Denver Urban Homesteading as well as The Backyard Hive and their bee keeping classes and thought how nice it would be to start learning about bee keeping now.  I also found these great hives that you can keep in your own yard.
